3D Animation
Flos Chartae
A 3D animation that explores the expectations parents place on a child in a traditional Chinese family and ultimately obliterates her personality.
2023.12

"Flos Chartae" refers to the concept of paper flowers. This experimental 3D animation aims to delve into the psychological harm inflicted by the atypical parenting style prevalent in certain traditional Chinese households, where parents excessively impose their expectations onto their children. Chen Zihua, our protagonist, becomes a victim of this overprotective educational approach. Gradually stripped of her individuality and autonomy under her parents' strict discipline and confinement, she ultimately fades away amidst the masses.
The paper flower symbolizes every courageous child who perseveres in asserting their true self despite the challenges encountered during their journey towards maturity.
